LEGAL STATUS AND OPERATIONS
North Karachi Industrial Development and Management Company (Limited by Guarantee) (‘the Company’) was incorporated in Pakistan on May 19, 2006 as a company limited by guarantee having share capital and not for profit under the provisions of section 42 of the repealed Companies Ordinance, 1984 (now the Companies Act, 2017).
THE MAIN OBJECTIVES OF THE COMPANY ARE:
- To work for orderly planned and rapid industrialization by establishing, developing and upgrading the industrial estates;
- To prepare and construct, reconstruct, alter, improve, decorate, equip, furnish, manage and maintain industrial infrastructure, building, works and conveniences of all kinds;
- To facilitate and arrange for provision, generation and distribution of utilities including but not limited to electricity, gas, sources of production of energy, telephone and health services within the industrial estate;
- To collect charges and fees with in the industrial estate with the permission of concerned authorities and to spend the funds so collected for improvement of industrial estate to identify means and take steps for preservation of environment from industrial pollution and educate, create awareness among people relating to industries about Rules and Regulations for preservation of environment and to facilitate implementation thereof; and
- To provide for public and private sector roads, streets, squares, gardens and other conveniences with in the North Karachi Industrial and Trading Estate etc.
The Head office and Registered office of the Company is situated at ST-1/1 Sector 12-C, North Karachi Industrial Area, Karachi.
